eTRADE Programme 2.0 helps accelerate exports and assist Malaysian SMEs to have a sustainable and valuable presence on cross-border eCommerce platforms. For the new financial incentive, the Digital Marketing & Training (DMT) Scheme, Export Ready Businesses can claim up to RM20,000 to undertake any digital marketing activities that can help sustain their participation on cross-border eCommerce platform. Increase brand awareness and boost sales conversion in overseas countries through digital marketing campaigns. The incentive is to be utilized within one (1) year. Nevertheless, LOCUS-T is honoured to be chosen as one of the Technology Service Providers (TSPs) authorized by MDEC.

For The Digital Marketing & Training DMT Scheme?

Who is Eligible?

  • Company registered with SSM under ROC / ROB / LLP / Co-operatives registered with Suruhanjaya Koperasi Malaysia (SKM) under the Co-operative Societies Act 1993.
  • Company must be registered with MATRADE, subscribe My Export & have done the ERAT score.
  • Selling Malaysian made products or Malaysian brand registered with MyIPO.
  • At least 60% equity owned by Malaysian.
  • Malaysia SMEs (in accordance to SMECorp SME Definition)
    1. Manufacturing: Annual Sales <RM50 Mil OR <200 full-time employees.
    2. Trading: Annual Sales <RM20 Mil OR <75 full-time employees.
  • Company must be selling on cross-border eCommerce platform(s) NOT less than one (1) year
  • Open for manufacturer and trading company only.

Who is Not Eligible?

  • The following businesses will not be deemed as SMEs and also do not qualify for Government assistance:
    1. Public-listed companies (PLC) in the main board
    2. Large firms
    3. Multinational Corporations (MNCs)
    4. Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) or have any government equity (federal or state) in its shareholding,
    5. Syarikat Kementerian Kewangan Diperbadankan (MKDs)
    6. State-Owned Enterprises.
  • Companies who are fully subsidised or sponsored by any third party, for example, Ministries or Government Agencies or Trade and Industry Associations or Chambers of Commerce or Professional Bodies and others. Companies who received a partial subsidy from a third party can still be considered for eTRADE Incentive reimbursements depending on what expenses were subsidised.
  • Different company’s name with the same owner and similar products sold. For example: Mr XX owned company ABC and company XYZ which are selling similar products / brand. Both companies applied for eTRADE Programme. Only one company’s application will be approved.

10. Corporate Profile from SSM (to ensure company has updated their nature of business to include online business)

11. Digital Marketing Plan for the year  (Type of marketing tools, duration, target markets, target products, budget, etc.) (If applicable)

12. Quotation for the digital marketing services from eCommerce Platform or Technology Service Provider(TSPs) endorsed by MDEC (If applicable)

13. Application Form

Before submitting the supporting documents, please take note of this highlighted information to ensure the documents submitted are correct.

  • Application MUST be submitted via online portal https://www.matrade.gov.my/etrade/. Hardcopy submission is not required.
  • The supporting documents must be clear, readable and in colour. In the event the documents are submitted in black and white, they must be certified by an External Auditor, External Chartered Accountants, Commissioner for Oaths or the issuer of the payment document.
  • Documents not in English language MUST be submitted together with an English Translation.
  • Incomplete documents must be submitted within 7 working days.
  • Processing Time: 30 days after receiving complete application and supporting documents.

  • Incentive is in the form of reimbursement to be paid directly to the approved company.
